GOVERNANCE
Energy Statement
An Energy Statement is a detailed calculation report submitted with planning application which shows that a development will achive the local authority’s emissions target.
New houses or apartment blocks will each need a Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) calculation to be completed. Any building, which is not a dwelling, will require a Simplified Building Energy Model (SBEM) calculation. These calculations should ideally happen as early as possible in the design stage. They lead to the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).
Sustainability Statement
The Sustainabilitiy Statement report demonstrates how a development will address local authorities core policies regarding sustainability. The report will address specific local objectives from CO2 emissions and renewable energy targets to water use and environmental issues. This may be achieved by adopting better performing fabric, efficient services, renewable technologies and consideration of wider environmental factors.
The statement will be prepared at the pre-planning stage and will be a requirement for the planning application.
Energy Modelling
We also provide Energy Modelling, which is the virtual simulation of buildings focusing on energy consumption, utility bills and life cycle costs of energy related items such as air conditioning, lights and hot water. It also evaluates the payback of green energy solutions.
Energy analysis or Energy modelling is used to:
We also offer design stage and as-built EPC’s.
